Part of our commitment to people is carried out through the Silverado Farming 1% for the Community Foundation, a component of the Napa Valley Community Foundation. The Napa Valley Community Foundation promotes philanthropy and provides leadership on vital community issues in Napa County. The foundation uses its knowledge about specific nonprofits and the charitable sector in Napa Valley to connect donors to charitable projects that make a lasting difference. Its goal is to encourage donors to get involved by making charitable contributions easy, effective, and enduring. The majority of the projects the foundation funds are focused on farm workers and at risk children.
By committing one percent of its annual revenues to the community, SFC helps fund projects that make Napa County stronger, more vibrant, and more livable for all who call it home. In 2008, the One Percent Fund helped support nutrition programs at Healthy Moms and Babies, which specializes in diabetes education and obesity prevention for adults and children.
